Imagine shaking a dried poppy head and hearing that soft rustle of seeds ready to become something extraordinary next spring. These seeds were harvested from large, coral-flowering poppies (Papaver sp.) that bloomed right here in the Pacific Northwest — and they’re being shared freely with fellow gardeners in the community.
Poppies thrive in full sun to partial shade and prefer well-drained soil with minimal watering once established. Direct sow in fall or early spring, as the seeds need a cold stratification period to germinate well. In our Bellevue climate, they naturalize beautifully and return year after year with minimal care. Expect showy coral blooms in spring that pollinators absolutely adore.
This is a local seed swap opportunity — no shipping, pickup only in the Lake Hills neighborhood of Bellevue, WA. Quantities are limited, so reach out sooner rather than later.
A small handful of seeds. A whole season of color waiting to happen.
