Cat bears globe-shaped blooms in sunny yellow tinged with mint green, about 4 inches across and densely packed with close to 100 petals, with a gentle fragrance. Cut stems hold up to 12 days in the vase. The glossy foliage stays clean and disease-resistant in heat to 100°F, and established plants need considerably less water than standard hybrid teas. It repeats from spring through fall at a medium growth rate. Plant in full sun and water regularly while it establishes. Feed with rabbit or composted chicken or horse manure each spring and fall. Self-fertile, non-invasive, and non-toxic, it is visited by bees, butterflies, ladybugs, and lacewings. Suited to cut-flower gardens, balcony containers, and low informal hedges.
Supplied as a two to three year old plant, 9–24 inches tall, that has already bloomed, with soil included.
