Solar Blaze belongs to the revered Hong Lian lineage, a group celebrated for exceptional cold hardiness and long-lived, woody structure. Unlike herbaceous peonies, this one builds a permanent framework year after year. You’ll receive a dormant bareroot plant, two to three years old with two to three established branches, shipping at ten to twenty-five inches tall. Come spring, expect growth to around three feet.
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Give it partial shade, moderate and even moisture during establishment, and a light layer of mulch in colder winters. Hardy in zones 4–9.
