Step into your garden and catch that first wave of fragrance drifting through the air — that’s Notre Dame, a classic cutting rose (Rosa) known for its generous blooms and remarkable staying power in the vase, up to 10 days after cutting.
This is a 2-3 year old, already-bloomed plant arriving 9-24″ tall and ready to perform. Plant her in full sun and water frequently; she’ll reward you with repeat flowers from spring through fall across a wide range of climates, hardy in zones 5-11. Growth is medium-paced, and she’s self-fertile, drawing in bees, butterflies, ladybugs, and lacewings to do their good work around her.
Feed with rabbit or composted chicken or horse manure each spring and fall, and she’ll stay vigorous and lush. Note the thorns — garden gloves are your friend here.
Non-toxic and non-invasive, Notre Dame is a reliable, fragrant garden rose for Pacific Northwest yards, wedding gardens, or any outdoor space that deserves a little beauty.
