This Rockii tree peony arrives as a dormant bareroot plant, 2–3 years old with 2–3 branches, typically 10–25 inches at shipping. Come spring, expect new growth to bring plants to around 3 feet tall. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, in a spot with partial shade and protection from harsh afternoon sun. Water moderately during establishment — evenly moist, never soggy. Hardy in USDA zones 4–9, it overwinters easily; a light mulch helps in colder climates, and good drainage is essential.
