As a Rockii tree peony, this is a genuinely long-lived shrub — woody-stemmed, deciduous, and extraordinarily cold-hardy through USDA zones 4–9. Your bareroot plant arrives 2–3 years old with 2–3 established branches, typically 10–25 inches tall at shipping. Expect it to reach around three feet by its first spring flush.
Plant it in partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil that leans neutral to slightly alkaline. Water moderately during establishment — consistently moist, never waterlogged. In colder areas, a light layer of mulch through winter goes a long way.
