Chengse Tianxin

Chengse Tianxin Rose (2023 Binfen Rose: Yellow-to-Orange-to-Pink Blooms with Ruffled Edges) Bred by Binfen Roses (China, 2023), Chengse Tianxin (Orange Sweetheart) is a delightful floribunda that shines with its dramatic color evolution, ruffled petals, and compact growth habit. Boasting 6–8 cm blooms that shift from soft yellow on opening, to warm orange-yellow (evoking the popular El Paso rose) in mid-bloom, and finally to deep pink as they mature, it features slightly ruffled “permed” petals, a faint fragrance, and an upright 60–80 cm frame—perfect for garden borders, balcony planters, or colorful cut flower arrangements. Growing 60–80 cm tall with strong, bushy growth and excellent branching, it produces neat, uniform blooms that cover the plant from spring to fall. The color journey is its standout trait: multiple hues can appear on one plant at once, creating a vibrant, dynamic display. The petals have a subtle ruffled texture that adds whimsy, while the compact size makes it ideal for small gardens or urban balconies. Its good disease resistance (especially against black spot and powdery mildew) reduces maintenance hassle, and the sturdy stems hold blooms well without staking. For optimal growth, plant in full sun (6+ hours daily) and well-drained, fertile soil to enhance color vibrancy. Light pruning in late winter (cut back to 3–5 healthy buds per stem) and regular deadheading encourage continuous flushes. Water deeply 1–2 times weekly, and feed with a phosphorus-rich fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to boost flower production. To highlight the color gradient, maintain soil pH between 6.0–6.5—this helps stabilize the transition from yellow to orange to pink. This Chinese-bred gem blends color magic, El Paso-like charm, and garden-hardy performance, bringing long-lasting vibrancy to any space.
