Blue Silkie Bantam

You already know the moment you hold one — that impossibly soft, fur-like plumage is unlike anything else in the chicken world. Blue Silkie Bantams (Gallus gallus domesticus) are compact, gentle birds with a famously docile temperament that makes them ideal for backyard flocks, family homesteads, and breeding pens. Their striking blue-toned feathering and small size bring real character to any flock.

Silkies lay cream or tinted eggs and are known as one of the calmest, most handleable bantam breeds available. Available April through early August, with a minimum order of 15 chicks (10 for Webster City hatchery pickup). Birds ship via USPS Priority Mail (typically 2–3 business days), with limited regional door-to-door delivery in parts of the Midwest. Different poultry types ship separately and must each meet their own minimums.

Have your brooder ready before arrival. Report any live-arrival or livability concerns by phone within 48 hours. Changes and cancellations must be made by 12:00 PM Central the Friday before your scheduled delivery. All live-animal sales are final once fulfillment is booked.
