Fargesia robusta ‘Wenchuan’

Stiffly upright with a tight, narrow footprint. Holds its vertical line better than most, which makes it useful in a narrow side yard.

Clumping bamboo. Expands slowly outward from the crown rather than running. No barrier needed. It widens a few inches a year, so leave room and you can otherwise forget about it.

Mature height: 16-20 ft. Habit: Clumping. Grown in the Pacific Northwest by Cascade Gardens.
