Fargesia nitida ‘Jiuzhaigou’

Blue Fountain bamboo. Slender canes turn coral to burgundy-red in good light, especially in cooler months. Purple-tinged new growth.

Clumping bamboo. Expands slowly outward from the crown rather than running. No barrier needed. It widens a few inches a year, so leave room and you can otherwise forget about it.

Mature height: 10-14 ft. Habit: Clumping. Grown in the Pacific Northwest by Cascade Gardens.
