Large semi-double blooms, pearly white with a pink flush over the outer petals, opening flat to show a full boss of golden stamens. The open, uncrowded form is the point of this one — it is a rose bees can actually work, unlike the very double varieties. Fragrance is moderate.

A bushy, spreading modern shrub reaching roughly three feet in each direction, with large glossy foliage and good disease resistance. Flowering is close to continuous rather than in distinct flushes, running from early summer until the first hard frost. Prune lightly — no more than a third — in late winter, and only very lightly in its first year.

Plant in full sun with free-draining soil and water deeply and consistently — roses reward regularity more than volume. Feed with well-rotted rabbit, composted chicken or horse manure in early spring and again after the first flush.

Roses are not toxic to cats, dogs or people, and the open blooms are worked by bees, hoverflies and lacewings through the season.
