📦 Shipping schedulePeonies ship fall only, September through November, while fully dormant and bare root — this is the only window we ship. Fall planting lets roots establish before winter for strong spring bloom. Local pickup is available upon request. Your cart and order confirmation will identify the shipping schedule for each item. Ready-to-ship and seasonal-shipping items may be split into separate orders.
🌱 Live plant noticePlants are living, perishable goods and may arrive dormant or experience normal transit stress — leaf drop, yellowing, temporary wilting, cosmetic damage, or soil displacement. These conditions do not necessarily mean a plant is dead.
📄 All sales finalAll sales are final except where a seller expressly states otherwise in the individual listing, a verified dead-on-arrival claim qualifies under the Live Plant Policy, or a refund is required by applicable law.
💳 Refund administrative chargeRefunds are issued less a non-refundable administrative charge of 3.5% + $0.80 on the original transaction. This covers payment processing and tax calculation fees retained by our providers, plus the administrative cost of processing the refund. Refunds required by law, and verified dead-on-arrival claims under the Live Plant Policy, are refunded in full.

The double form of the old pass-along tiger lily, exported from Japan since 1869 and grown in American gardens ever since. Where the species carries six recurved tepals, ‘Flore Pleno’ packs 24 to 36 of them into each ruffled, outward-facing bloom — bright orange, heavily freckled with purple-black spots, and roughly 4 inches across. Scentless. A mature stem can carry 20 or more flowers opening in succession over several weeks in mid-to-late summer.

Stands 4 to 6 feet on sturdy dark stems. Hardy USDA zones 3–9, full sun to part sun, in moist but well-drained soil. Cut stems hold up to two weeks in the vase.

The flowers are sterile and set neither seed nor pollen, so there is no shedding onto tablecloths — but the plant reproduces freely from the small black bulbils that form in the leaf axils. Knock them off, grow them on, and they flower in about two years. Deer and rabbit resistant.

A note on tiger lilies generally: the species is a known carrier of lily viruses it shows no symptoms of, so site it away from prized Asiatic or Oriental lilies. All parts of any Lilium are severely toxic to cats — the pollen-free flowers do not change this. Do not plant where cats browse, and do not bring cut stems into a home with cats.
