Single Comb Brown Leghorn Chick

If you’ve been searching for a productive, heritage-style layer that actually earns her place in your flock, the Single Comb Brown Leghorn is worth a close look. She’s alert and quick-moving — you’ll notice that energy the moment you open the brooder — and she matures into a lean, efficient producer of bright white eggs.

Brown Leghorns are considered uncommon compared to their white counterparts, making them a thoughtful choice for breeders and backyard keepers who want something a little less ordinary. Plan for an active bird that prefers space to roam and rewards good management with consistent laying performance.
