Run your fingers along a summer rose’s arching cane and you’ll understand why gardeners have grown these beauties for centuries — that heady fragrance, those layered petals, the quiet satisfaction of a plant that simply wants to bloom for you.
This repeat-flowering rose (Rosa spp.) is a 2–3 year old plant that has already bloomed, arriving 9–24″ tall with soil included, so it’s ready to settle into your garden right away. Give it a spot with full sun and water frequently to keep roots consistently moist through the growing season. It performs across a wide range of climates (zones 5–11) and grows at a medium pace into a classic flowering shrub.
Come spring and fall, top-dress with rabbit or composted chicken and horse manure to fuel those flushes of blooms from spring through fall. Bees, butterflies, ladybugs, and lacewings all visit freely — this self-fertile rose earns its place in any pollinator-friendly yard. Not toxic, though it does have thorns.
A living piece of garden tradition, grown with intention.
