You can almost feel the romance before the blooms even open. The Hou garden rose is a repeat-flowering cutting rose bred for long vase life — up to 10 days — making it a natural choice for anyone who loves bringing the garden indoors. Plant yours in full sun and water frequently; roses reward consistency. This is a 2–3 year old plant, already bloomed, arriving 9–24″ tall with soil included, so you’re not starting from scratch. Fertilize with rabbit or composted chicken or horse manure each spring and fall, and let pollinators do the rest — bees, butterflies, and lacewings all benefit this self-fertile variety. The plant is non-toxic. A wedding-style garden rose that earns its place in the ground and the vase alike, this is a relationship worth growing.
