Your bareroot plant arrives dormant in fall, 2–3 years old with 2–3 established branches, typically 10–25 inches tall at shipping. Fall planting is intentional: warm soil encourages root development, and cold stratification triggers the vigorous spring growth tree peonies are known for. By the following season, expect plants reaching around 3 feet.
