He Lan Wo Xue is a Rockii tree peony bearing semi-double white flowers close to eight inches across, marked with the dark purple basal flares characteristic of the Rockii group, held above deep green foliage. Plant in partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil with neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Water moderately during establishment, keeping the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged, particularly through winter. A light mulch protects the roots in colder winters. Plants reach roughly three feet in their first spring of new growth.
Supplied as a bare-root plant, two to three years old, with two to three established branches. Local pickup available on request.
🍂 Shipping & planting window
Peonies ship in fall (September–November) when fully dormant and bare root.
Fall planting gives roots a full season to establish in warm soil before winter. Cold stratification triggers strong, healthy spring growth and reliable bloom production. Spring-shipped peonies experience root damage during active growth, transplant shock during their bloom cycle, and often lose an entire growing season.
