Grown by Alexandra Farms, these garden roses (Rosa hybrida) arrive in bud stage, intentionally harvested closed for safe transit. Give them a proper welcome: trim one inch from each stem, strip foliage below the waterline, and set them in a clean vase with cool water and flower food. Leave the cardboard wrap on while they hydrate — it holds them upright as they drink. After 24–48 hours in a cool room, watch them unfurl at their own pace. Natural variation in tone, petal count, and openness is part of what makes garden roses feel like something from an actual garden.
Keep them away from heat, direct sun, drafts, and ripening fruit. Plan ahead — order at least two weeks out, three weeks for Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day.
