English Name: View Jade. Chinese Name: 景玉. Detail: Crown form. Flowers 16cm×7cm, white, sparkling and tidy. Flowers usually hidden among the leaves. Flowering late. Growth vigorous, flowers normal.

Plants are healthy when shipped. Natural variation, dormancy, transplant shock, destination climate, weather, care, and after-shipment conditions are outside the vendor’s control.

Plants that are shipped out will be trimmed a little, 1-2 ft tall, with or without leaves depending on the shipping season (with leaves and branches, they’re 2-3 ft tall). NOT the common herbaceous peony plants that die back to the ground. These plants grow to 5-6ft tall and wide, and live for about a hundred years or more. Rarer than common soft stemmed peony or ITOH plants.
Will lose leaves in the winter but never dies down like herbaceous peonies. Woody stems stay above ground. Produces huge flowers, about 7-10″ across.

Peonies ship in fall (September–November) when fully dormant and bare root. This is the only window we ship.
Fall planting gives roots a full season to establish in warm soil before winter. Cold stratification triggers strong, healthy spring growth and reliable bloom production. Spring-shipped peonies experience root damage during active growth, transplant shock during their bloom cycle, and often lose an entire growing season.
