There’s something ceremonial about a bloom that arrives wreathed in fragrance — and Incense Mist (Xiang Lu Zi Yan) lives up to its name the moment it opens. This Rockii tree peony produces spectacular flowers reaching nearly 8 inches across, their petals carrying that signature Rockii depth: luminous, layered, and unforgettable up close.
You’ll receive a dormant bareroot plant, 2–3 years old with 2–3 branches. It ships in fall at 10–25 inches; expect growth to around 3 feet by spring. Plant it in fertile, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, in a spot with partial shade. Water moderately during establishment — evenly moist, never waterlogged. Hardy in USDA zones 4–9; a light mulch protects roots in colder winters.
Fall planting is intentional. Dormant roots settle into warm soil before winter, and cold stratification builds the vigor that leads to reliable, generous bloom the following season.
🍂 Shipping & planting window
Peonies ship in fall (September–November) when fully dormant and bare root.
Fall planting gives roots a full season to establish in warm soil before winter. Cold stratification triggers strong, healthy spring growth and reliable bloom production. Spring-shipped peonies experience root damage during active growth, transplant shock during their bloom cycle, and often lose an entire growing season.
This listing is for 50 plants at $55 per plant. A minimum of 100 LY Nursery tree peony plants is required per order. Shipping is included. Ships directly from the grower farm in China.
