Fargesia denudata

Fine-textured with small leaves and gracefully weeping canes. Lighter and airier than robusta where a solid wall would feel heavy.

Clumping bamboo. Expands slowly outward from the crown rather than running. No barrier needed. It widens a few inches a year, so leave room and you can otherwise forget about it.

Mature height: 10-14 ft. Habit: Clumping. Grown in the Pacific Northwest by Cascade Gardens.
