You’ll receive a dormant bareroot plant, 2–3 years old with 2–3 branches, shipped 10–25 inches tall. Come spring, expect new growth to reach around 3 feet. Plant in partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil that leans neutral to slightly alkaline. Water moderately during establishment — consistently moist, never soggy. Hardy in USDA zones 4–9, it’s remarkably tough; a light layer of mulch protects roots in colder winters.
