The Silver Gray Dorking is a heritage breed of Roman British origin, calm in temperament and uncommon in commercial hatcheries. Hens lay cream to lightly tinted eggs once mature. The silver-gray plumage pattern gives the variety its name. Chicks are hatchery-sourced and require a fully set up brooder before arrival.
Available February through early July. Order minimums apply: 25 chicks January through March, 15 in April, and 6 from May onward. Webster City hatchery pickup minimum is 6. Live birds ship via USPS Priority Mail, typically 2–3 business days, with limited Midwest door-to-door delivery. Hatch and ship dates may shift for weather or safe-shipping conditions. Losses must be reported by phone within 48 hours of arrival. Changes or cancellations must be made by noon Central on the Friday before scheduled delivery.
