A very old garden rose, treasured since the 1800s and one of the most fragrant roses you can grow. Small, tightly packed, very double magenta blooms — almost pom-poms — with a neat button eye, held in small clusters above dense deep-green foliage. Classic old-rose Damask scent that carries across a garden.

Compact, tidy, bushy shrub to about 3–4 ft tall and wide — suits small gardens, mixed borders and containers. Repeat flowering from late spring into autumn. Very hardy (USDA zone 4) and tolerates part shade.

Portland / Damask class heirloom, own-root plant.
