Free blue bantam rooster for a good home

This one is outside PhyTu’s usual plant-and-garden lane, but he deserves a proper introduction.

A soft slate-blue bantam boy with lightly laced body feathering, warm bronze flecking across the shoulders, feathered legs and feet, and a bright upright single comb. Blue is a dilute colour that never breeds true, so no two blue birds come out quite alike — his shading runs pale on the saddle and darker through the neck and tail.

He is the steadiest of the four. Calm on the ground, slow to startle, and content to forage along the fence line rather than pick fights. He is the one we would send to a first-time flock.

Bantam roosters do well in small backyard flocks and compact runs. He is used to being outdoors with other birds, and to people moving around him. He will crow — please make sure your city or HOA allows roosters before requesting him.
