Tongyun

Tongyun Rose (2023 Binfen Multi – Headed Cut Rose: Sunset – Blush Blooms with Cup – Shaped Charm) Bred by Binfen Roses (China, 2023) and also known as “Multi – Headed Tongyun,” this stunning cut rose captivates with its sunset – inspired bicolor blooms, neat cup – shaped form, and a 10 – day vase life—boasting 8 cm flowers, an 80 cm compact upright habit, and clusters of blooms that shift from soft orange – pink to warm champagne, like the glowing clouds at dusk. Its faint, delicate fragrance adds a gentle touch, making it perfect for bouquets, centerpieces, or garden borders that crave romantic, long – lasting color. Growing 80 cm tall with strong, straight stems ideal for cutting, Tongyun is a favorite for both home gardeners and floral enthusiasts. The highlight is its color magic: soft orange – pink petals fade to dreamy champagne in varying light, mimicking the warm hues of evening “tongyun” (crimson clouds) that paint the sky at sunset. The blooms are cup – shaped with neatly incurved centers, creating a full, elegant silhouette that holds its shape beautifully from bud to full bloom. As a multi – headed variety, each stem bears clusters of buds that open in succession, providing abundant stems for arrangements and extending the floral display. A subtle, barely – there fragrance complements the blooms without overwhelming, making it ideal for indoor spaces like living rooms and bedrooms. For best results, plant in full sun (6+ hours daily) and well – drained, fertile soil to boost color vibrancy and stem strength. Light pruning in late winter (cut back to 3–5 healthy buds per stem) and regular deadheading encourage continuous multi – headed blooms. Water deeply 1–2 times weekly, and feed with a phosphorus – rich rose fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to support cluster production. To preserve the sunset – hued color, provide partial afternoon shade in hot climates—this slows excessive fading while keeping the cup – shaped form intact. Whether used as a cut flower or garden shrub, Tongyun brings the romance of a Chinese sunset to any space with its unique bicolor charm and long – lasting blooms.
