Jau Des

With a history of nearly 200 years, this heritage variety embodies the romance and charm of old-world climbing roses. As a large climber, it can reach an impressive mature height of up to 600 cm, making it ideal for training on trellises, arbors, walls, and fences. Its vigorous growth habit and abundant foliage create a lush, dramatic display that transforms any garden space. The blooms measure 6–8 cm in diameter, featuring 60–70 petals per flower. They showcase a lovely creamy lemon hue, occasionally tinged with soft apricot-pink, peach, or yellow—typically deeper than pure cream or white. The flowers open in a rather loose, casual form; some may be quadripartite (four-parted) occasionally, and most have a split center, adding a unique, unstructured elegance to their appearance.
