There is something theatrical about a peony that stops people mid-stride, and Fuchsia Giant (Gao Gan Hong Xiu Qiu) does exactly that. When those blush-to-fuchsia blooms unfurl each spring — each one a full 7 inches across — you understand why Rockii tree peonies have been treasured for centuries.

You’ll receive a dormant bareroot plant, 2–3 years old with 2–3 established branches, shipped at 10–25 inches tall. By its first spring, expect growth reaching around 3 feet. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, in a spot with partial shade. Water moderately during establishment, keeping soil evenly moist but never waterlogged — especially in winter. A light layer of mulch after planting protects roots in colder climates. Hardy in USDA zones 4–9.

Peonies ship bareroot in fall (September–November), the only window that gives roots a full season to settle before winter triggers the cold stratification these plants need to bloom reliably. Local pickup available upon request.

🍂 Shipping & planting window

Peonies ship in fall (September–November) when fully dormant and bare root.

Fall planting gives roots a full season to establish in warm soil before winter. Cold stratification triggers strong, healthy spring growth and reliable bloom production. Spring-shipped peonies experience root damage during active growth, transplant shock during their bloom cycle, and often lose an entire growing season.

This listing is for 50 plants at $55 per plant. A minimum of 100 LY Nursery tree peony plants is required per order. Shipping is included. Ships directly from the grower farm in China.
