Daming place

Daming Palace Rose (Chinese Austin-Inspired Vintage Gem) Bred by renowned Chinese rose breeder Fan Dexin and introduced in 2022, Daming Palace (Daming Place Rose) is a love letter to classic English rose charm with a distinct Chinese twist—boasting temperature-shifting vintage pink blooms, gilded petal edges, and a delicate scent, perfect for romantic cottage gardens, fragrant patio focal points, or elegant cut flower displays that blend old-world grace with modern garden reliability. Growing to a balanced 70–90 centimeters tall, it forms a bushy, well-mannered small shrub with lush green foliage that makes its blooms pop. Each 8–10 centimeter flower showcases a classic David Austin-style form—full, cupped blooms that unfurl into romantic rosettes—with soft vintage pink petals that glow with golden edges when kissed by sunlight. The color is a masterclass in subtlety: deepening to rich, warm pink in cool weather and softening to blushing light pink in heat, yet always retaining an elegant, dreamy tone that feels both timeless and fresh. A light, clean fragrance lingers gently around the blooms, adding a whisper of romance without overwhelming, making it ideal for planting near seating areas or entryways to welcome guests with quiet scent. A reliable repeat bloomer from spring to fall, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Light pruning in late winter and regular deadheading will keep it flowering freely, while its compact size fits seamlessly into small gardens, urban balconies, or mixed borders. For gardeners who crave classic form with dynamic color and easy care, Daming Palace is a standout Chinese rose that bridges heritage and modernity beautifully.
