Chengkong

Chenkong Rose (Colorfast Blue – Purple Floribunda with Rosette Beauty & Lemon Fragrance) Bred by Jiang Zhengzhi of Skywolf Roses in 2025, Chenkong is a show – stopping floribunda that shines with color consistency and elegant form—boasting 8 cm blue – purple blooms with cool grayish outer petals, a stunning cup – to – rosette transformation, delicate “beauty tips” on petals, and an intense, refreshing lemon scent, perfect for creating eye – catching garden borders, romantic patio displays, or sophisticated cut – flower arrangements that radiate timeless allure. Growing 80–120 cm tall, it forms a bushy, well – branched shrub ideal for mixed garden beds, large containers, or hedge plantings. The 8 cm blooms are a visual masterpiece: starting as an elegant cup shape, they unfurl into a classic rosette with abundant, tightly arranged petals. A defining feature is the stable blue – purple hue—outer petals carry a subtle gray undertone that adds depth, while the color holds firm even in heat or sun, never fading easily. The distinct “beauty tips” on the petal edges lend an extra touch of refinement, and the intense lemon fragrance (bright, zesty, and long – lasting) fills the air, creating a sensory treat that complements its striking looks. As a floribunda, it produces clusters of blooms repeatedly from spring to fall, ensuring a non – stop display of blue – purple charm. Chenkong thrives in full sun (6+ hours daily) and well – drained, fertile soil. Light pruning in late winter (cutting back to 3–5 strong buds per stem) and regular deadheading keep it blooming profusely. For optimal color vibrancy, feed with a phosphorus – rich rose fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season. Its robust growth, good disease resistance, and consistent color make it a breeze to care for, even for novice gardeners. This 2025 Chinese – bred gem blends stable color, elegant form, and a mouth – watering lemon scent, making it a must – have for lovers of unique, fragrant floribundas.
