Come spring, expect it to reach around three feet. Give it partial shade, fertile and well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, and moderate, even moisture during establishment — never waterlogged, especially in winter. A light layer of mulch in colder climates is all the extra care it needs.
