Two fluffy baby Silkie chicks are ready to join your backyard flock or become your next feathered companions. From their first days, these little ones have been gently handled by humans — so they arrive already comfortable with people, curious rather than skittish.
Silkies (Gallus gallus domesticus) are known for their impossibly soft, fur-like plumage and famously calm temperaments, making them one of the most people-friendly chicken breeds you can keep. These chicks have been raised on a wholesome diet of dry feed, organic grains, dried insects, fresh greens, and garden vegetables — a nutrient-rich start that supports healthy feathering and strong bones.
Care basics: Brooder temps starting around 95°F, gradually reduced weekly. Silkies do best in dry, sheltered coops with low roosts due to their limited flight ability. Hardy across a range of climates with proper shelter.
