Yves Kalman Rose Yves Kalman, also known as イヴカルマン in Japanese, is an exquisite cut rose variety bred at Masuda Rose Garden in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. A beloved member of the popular Yves series, it has captured the hearts of rose lovers for its rich color, strong fragrance, and excellent cut-flower qualities. This compact, well-balanced shrub reaches a mature height of approximately 120 cm, with moderately long stems that make it ideal for cutting and arranging. Its manageable size allows it to thrive in garden beds as well as in cut-flower production systems, where it is widely grown in Japan. The blooms are truly magnificent, measuring 8–12 cm in diameter, showcasing a deep, vibrant pink hue—often regarded as the deepest and most intense red-pink among the Yves series. Unlike some related varieties such as Yves Piaget, it rarely displays silver petal backs, presenting a pure, saturated color that holds beautifully in both garden and vase.
