Sherwood Rose (Takumi Kimura Sherwood) Crafted by Japan’s Takumi Kimura in 2023 (Japanese シャーウッド), Sherwood is a sophisticated floribunda rose that blends a rare, dreamy neutral color palette with a classic rosette form and soft tea fragrance—ideal for creating serene cottage garden borders, elegant patio displays, or refined cut – flower arrangements that exude understated luxury. Growing to a versatile 60–90cm, it forms a bushy, well – branched shrub with lush foliage that perfectly complements the 8–10cm blooms. The color is its signature: a soft, creamy beige that shimmers with subtle hints of calm brown and pale purple, never leaning fully into either hue—an ethereal tone that stands out in any garden without being loud. Each flower unfurls into a lush, layered rosette, with thick petals that hold their shape beautifully, and a long single – bloom lifespan that makes it a star for both garden displays and vases. A delicate tea scent floats gently around the blooms, adding a touch of classic rose charm without overwhelming, perfect for quiet garden nooks or intimate indoor spaces. As a floribunda, Sherwood blooms profusely in flushes from spring to fall. It thrives in full sun and well – drained soil. Light spring pruning to remove dead or weak stems and regular deadheading will keep it flowering continuously. With good disease resistance and a compact, manageable habit, this 2023 Kimura creation is a low – effort way to add timeless, sophisticated beauty to your garden, balancing unique color artistry with reliable performance.
