Fugetsu Rose: Japanese Bud Sport from “Yushou”—Sunshine Yellow with Blushing Pink Surprises A breathtaking mutation discovered as a bud sport from “Yushou” rose by Japanese breeder Keiji Kunieda, Fugetsu (风月 / ふうげつ) captivates with its dainty 8cm narrow-cupped blooms in warm sunshine yellow, occasionally blushing with soft pink hues during cooler temperatures—nature’s own watercolor masterpiece that cannot be artificially replicated. This Japanese gem enchants with delicate yellow tea fragrance, rain-resistant petals, and a prolific multi-headed flowering habit that earns its nickname “the blooming machine.” Perfect for USDA zones 9-11, it reaches 80-120cm tall, bringing serene Japanese garden aesthetics to your home.True to its name meaning “wind and moon” in Japanese, Fugetsu embodies ephemeral beauty: each bloom is a unique creation, with the yellow base glowing like sunlight through rice paper, and subtle pink blushes appearing randomly on the edges during cool spells—like a shy geisha’s rouge that fades with warmth. The narrow cup shape remains elegant from tight bud to full bloom, while the prolific flowering habit ensures a constant supply of stems for vases, windowsills, and table centerpieces. Its yellow tea fragrance is light yet distinctive, evoking a peaceful Japanese garden at dawn, while the rain-resistant petals maintain their beauty even after summer showers. Whether displayed alone or paired with greenery, Fugetsu adds a touch of Zen-like tranquility to any interior space.
