There’s something enchanting about a White Silkie Bantam — that cloud of soft, fur-like plumage and a calm demeanor that makes even first-time chicken keepers feel confident. Silkies are the gentle souls of the backyard flock, known for their docile temperament and their willingness to be handled, which makes them wonderful with children and beginners alike. Their cream or lightly tinted eggs are a sweet bonus from a breed people often keep simply for the joy of it.
Silkies thrive with basic poultry care: a secure coop, clean water, quality feed, and a proper brooder setup ready before your chicks arrive. This is an uncommon breed, available April through early August from our hatchery partner.
Order minimums apply (15 bantam chicks for standard shipping; 10 for Webster City pickup). Birds ship via USPS Priority or Priority Express, with live arrival and 48-hour livability guaranteed. Changes must be made by noon Central on the Friday before delivery. All live-animal sales are final once fulfillment is booked.
