There’s something special about the Buttercup — a breed so rare that many backyard flock keepers have never encountered one in person. Named for the distinctive crown-shaped comb that sits atop their head like a small floral ring, these active, alert birds bring genuine character to any flock. They lay white eggs and carry themselves with the confident energy of a bird that knows its own mind.
Buttercup Chicks are available February through early July, shipped via USPS Priority Mail or Priority Express (typically 2–3 business days), with limited regional door-to-door delivery in parts of the Midwest. Order minimums vary by season: 25 chicks January–March, 15 in April, and 6 in May–September. Webster City hatchery pickup minimum is 6. Different poultry types ship separately and must each meet their own minimums.
Your brooder should be fully set up before your chicks arrive. Report any live-arrival or livability concerns by phone within 48 hours. Changes and cancellations must be made by 12:00 PM Central the Friday before your scheduled delivery. All live-animal sales are final once fulfillment is booked.
